Yes! I want to take action to end abortion in Charlotte.
The “Postcard campaign” is based on a simple pledge – to pray, sacrifice and act to end abortion.
Catholics have all the means necessary to end abortion both in Charlotte and in America: Prayer and sacrifice (penance). No need to wait on legislation, elections, or court rulings. Abortion is at its roots a spiritual problem, and as Our Lord tells us in scripture: But this kind can be cast out only by prayer and fasting. – Matthew 17:20.
In that spirit, the Carolina Pro-life Action Network of Charlotte (C-PLAN) invites all Catholics to participate in our postcard pledge campaign by taking up a daily prayer of your choosing, and a weekly sacrifice of your choosing. Lastly, we invite you to prayerfully consider taking action on a monthly basis.
You can change your choices at any time or substitute your own prayers, sacrifices, or actions as you see fit.
Lastly, we are focusing our intentions on ending abortion at 1 abortion facility in Charlotte – the one at Hebron Road in Charlotte. Please include this in your prayer and sacrifice intentions.
Take ACTION to End abortion in Charlotte
Pray Daily
- Rosary (ideal)
- Divine Mercy chaplet
- St. Michael Prayer
- Our Fathers, Hail Mary’s or Glory Be’s
- Other impromptu prayers
Sacrifice Weekly
- Abstain from meat (especially Fridays)
- Fast for a day (see current Church norms for fasting)
- Skip a meal, dessert, snacks or TV
- Skip social media for 1/2 a day
- Offer up tribulations and sufferings you encounter each day
Act Monthly
- Attend a Daily Mass
- Practice 1st Saturday Fatima devotions (see below)
- Join parish Respect Life Ministry
- Attend Two Hearts Vigil at Cathedral (see below or click here: www.prolifecharlotte.org/two-hearts)
- Peacefully pray at abortion facility (contact your parish Respect Life Committee to learn how)
