1st Saturday Mass at Missionaries of the Poor w/ Fr. Buettner

Fr. Buettner will not be able to have Mass with the Missionaries of Charity at 8:00 on Saturday, Sept. 5 followed by prayers at the abortion mill as he usually does. This is because the Missionaries of Charity will be celebrating Blessed Teresa of Calcutta’s feast day on that day.

So, instead, we will go to the abortion mill on Latrobe Dr. at 9:00 a.m. to pray first. Then, we will go to the Missionaries of Charity for Holy Mass at 11:00 a.m. Bishop Jugis will celebrate the Mass.

Please note that this chapel is very small and will may be standing room only.

Mary Garden Baby Shower Event

We’d like to thank everyone for their support of this ministry! We’ve had an amazing year so far! We have two showers coming up on August 30th and September 13th at St. Thomas Aquinas! While we cannot disclose the situations of these two women, we can tell you that our hearts ache for them.

We can share that it will mean a LOT to have this kind of love and encouragement come from the Catholic Church! We look forward to coming together to celebrate these two little lives about to come into the world. All are welcome!

We sometimes even have the baby’s Father in attendance, so having men there can help him not to feel isolated. Gifts are not required. Just your presence shows you care. But all gifts are welcome, and registry links & more information can be found at our website marygardenshowers.org.

August 14th Rosary Rally a Huge Success!

In response to the string of undercover Planned Parenthood exposé videos, C-PLAN of Charlotte, a new group of Catholic pro-life workers and ministry leaders, organized a Rosary Rally at the local Planned Parenthood on Albemarle Rd. from 4pm-6pm on August 14th, the feast day of the patron saint of the pro-life movement, St. Maximilian Kolbe.

It was such a huge success, and shows what parish Respect Life coordinators can do when we work together. Nearly 400 people, including 6 priests and a handful of deacons and seminarians, joined us in prayer.

After the event, Fr. Roux celebrated a special pro-life Vigil Mass for the Feast of the Assumption at the Cathedral for rally participants, including a beautiful candlelight procession.

You can read the Rosary Rally coverage at the Catholic News Herald and watch the video:

The Rosary Rally was also picked up by the local news channels which you can find below.

On behalf of the Carolina Pro-Life Action Network (C-PLAN), we wanted to thank the 360+ faithful who turned our for our Rosary Rally. It shows what we can accomplish when all the Catholic parishes coordinate their pro-life activities, which is the mission of our new group. To learn more about C-PLAN sign up for our newsletter.
