Dr. Scherz is a professor of Moral Theology and Ethics at Catholic University of America where he focuses on the field of Bioethics. He has done extensive research in the genetics of embryonic development, investigating the theological and ethical implications of biomedical research.

The Cathedral of St. Patrick Respect Life Ministry is organizing a Rosary Vigil at the Planned Parenthood (700 S. Torrence, Charlotte) on Saturday August 31.
Mass at 8:00am – Cathedral of St. Patrick
After Mass, meet at the Statue of the Blessed Mother (in the courtyard outside the church), to recite a novena prayer. The group will then decide to walk or carpool to the location. Questions contact Tina Witt at mjwtbw1995 (at) gmail.com.

On Wednesday August 7th at 6:30pm, St. Mark parish will offer their annual Mass & Holy Hour of Reparation for the sins of abortion, contraception, euthanasia and same sex unions. Mass will be at 6:30pm (Latin – Ordinary Form) and have English & Spanish homilies.
A Holy Hour of Reparation will immediately follow Mass, beginning around ~ 7:15pm (led by a priest, or deacon). We will have booklets in English and in Spanish.
Join us on each First Friday through First Saturday at the Cathedral of St. Patrick (1621. E. Dilworth Road, Charlotte) in an overnight vigil to honor the Hearts of Jesus & Mary, to pray for our families, offer penance for our sins (especially abortion), and pray for our nation’s conversion. This is to honor Our Lady of Fatima’s request for prayer and penance.
- Devotion begins with 8pm First Friday Mass, August 2
- Nocturnal Adoration after Mass from 9pm – 8am Saturday August 3
- Holy Hour of Reparation from 9-10pm
- 8am First Saturday Mass
